There once was nothing
But nothing needed something
To hold when the still
Born of the dead took its will
I don’t know anything
I’m too busy listening
To the ghosts in the wind
Who’ve all come rushing in
Let me lay my head on your shoulder
Let me dream that god could live in me
Let me go to sleep and ask nothing
This world hurts
And life is long
So long in my longing
We need to believe
In love that’s so far-reaching
We lean close to touch
Ourselves in our own otherness
I held you once at least
We swam in the ocean
Climbed to peaks
Before this all went away
Sung with no words or no names
Let me knock on the door of heaven
Let me weep ’til the tears all fall from me
All these countless places we waltz in
Will we ever know eternity?
This album met me where I was at in a special way! The vocals and instrumentation are dynamic while defining a new kind of funk and soul rhythm j-guinn
A truly original blend of haunting electronics and gothic drama mirroring the complex and unknowable nature of human emotions. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 30, 2023
I really love how the band took influences from various music genres (soul, funk, a little hip hop and rock) mix 'em in a very clean way and keep that latin vibe throughout the entire album.
Of course there are also other great songs off the album (Re Up and Doors, just to name a few). barrera_josea
